What It Does To You?

The Physical Effects

  • Although vaping hasn’t been around long enough for us to know what the effects are to the body over time, health experts have reported serious lung damage in people who vape, including some deaths.
  • Vaping releases nicotine into the body, which is extremely addictive and can impact memory, focus, intelligence, self-control, attentiveness, and temperament in teenagers, as well as raise the risk of other kinds of addiction later in life.
  • Aside from the general physical impacts of vaping, there are other physical negative effects. Coughing, dry mouth, throat shortness of breath, and headaches are some of the symptoms. These negative effects are linked to both inhaling and smoking the vapor.
  • There is a perception that vaping is not as harmful as smoking cigarettes, although they are physiologically equivalent. Vaping is riddled with unknowns, such as what chemicals make up the vapor.  New evidence reveals linkages to chronic lung illness and asthma, as well as heart disease and dual use of e-cigarettes and smoking. Users are essentially exposing themselves to a wide range of chemicals that not even health professionals fully comprehend and are likely unsafe.
